Minorities in Government Service
Prime Minister’s New 15 Point Programme for the welfare of minorities (PM’s New 15-PP), is an overarching programme, covering various schemes implemented by different Ministries/Departments, including the scheme/initiative of “Recruitment of Minorities in Government Departments/Organizations”, with an aim to increase the representation of minorities in Government/PSU jobs by facilitating recruitment of minorities through affirmative actions. In this regard, D/o Personnel & Training (DoPT) has issued guidelines to all Ministries/Departments of Central Government, Public Sector Enterprises, Public Sector Banks and Financial Institutions, quasi-Government organizations, autonomous bodies, etc. and all appointing authorities to give special consideration to minorities in recruitment of Government/PSU jobs.
The details of recruitment of minorities, made in the Central Government Departments, Autonomous bodies, PSUs, etc. in the country during the last three years are –
